Joey Brannan Named Superintendent

Eufaula, AL, December 4, 2018 – Patrick Joey Brannan, Jr. has been named superintendent of Eufaula City Schools by the Board of Education. Mr. Brannan has been an educator for 20 years, including seven years as a teacher in Eufaula City Schools at the beginning of his career. After leaving Eufaula, Brannan served in Ozark City Schools as an assistant principal, school improvement director, principal and for the last three and a half years as assistant superintendent.

Mr. Brannan completed his Bachelor of Science degree at Troy University in political science, his Master of Science at Auburn University Montgomery in secondary education/social science and his administrative certification at Troy University.

Mr. Joey Brannan stated, “It feels great to be coming back home to Eufaula. Eufaula City Schools is a great school system. I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with each staff member to help our school system reach its full potential. As we move in to the new year, I look forward to being in our school buildings and out in the community and having the opportunity to meet everyone.”

Mr. Otis Hill, Eufaula City Schools' board president, stated, “We look forward to having Mr. Brannan back in Eufaula. We are excited that he brings twenty years of significant experience to this position. We were fortunate to have had five excellent candidates and would like to thank our employees for their support over the last couple of months during this transition.”

Brannan and wife, Amber, who is also an educator, have two children—Bailey (a freshman at the University of South Alabama) and Trey (a tenth grader).
